let the water consume
let my body sink beneath its weight
until it dissolves behind
the tile, the faucet, the flickering light
let the room, the world I inhabit
be everything
and all else dissipate with
the ripples I made
dipping my limbs
into the invisible film
let the surface be still above me
and let me be as the surface
as the space that holds me
where peace exists externally
where the tile, the faucet
can't be bothered by a thumb brush
beneath the water
or a thought beneath my brow
